Heading into the Pitín Curves with 754 047
Rychlík to the Slovakian border on the Vlárská dráha
Saturday, 30.08.2025
The region around Pitín is known for its typical Wallachian villages, wooded slopes, and the quiet, almost nostalgic atmosphere along the railway line—an ideal setting for a scenic photo train. Thanks to its many curves, the route offers numerous photo locations that are made accessible through the carefully planned itinerary of this special train.
Our photo train, featuring locomotive 754 047 and matching rolling stock, begins its journey in the early morning light just before Slavičín. Throughout the day, the train will traverse the section between Slavičín and the border station of Vlárský průsmyk multiple times, offering repeated opportunities to capture the picturesque landscape around Pitín and the line's gentle curves on camera.
Unfortunately, the weather was not particularly kind to us; nevertheless, we managed to capture some beautiful shots and experienced a journey back in time to the days when passenger trains of this type regularly rolled along the Vlárská dráha.
