With the "Rosnicka" in Jeseník
464.202 in the wintry Altvater Mountains
On the first weekend of February, a steam locomotive event took place in the foothills of the Jeseníky Mountains—the very region where locomotives 464.201 and 464.202 once regularly traversed the Ramzová Pass (*Ramsovské sedlo*) in scheduled service. Locomotive 464.202—still operational and nicknamed "Tree Frog" (*Laubfrosch*) due to its livery—was scheduled to haul an authentic-style photo train over the section between Hanušovice and Lipová Lázně that weekend, consisting of three "Bai" passenger coaches and a "Dsd" type service car.
In addition to the shuttle runs, Saturday evening offered the opportunity for atmospheric night photography at the Lipová Lázně depot. This may well have been the last chance to see the engine in action hauling a photo train in its former home territory; the boiler certification is due to expire next year, and given the locomotive's current condition, an extension of its operating permit appears unlikely.
