Winter Steam in the Tauber Valley
Long plumes of steam & semaphore signals in the wintry Tauber Valley

"Opportunity creates Photo Trains" – under this motto, the organizer invites enthusiasts to a photo run featuring locomotive 23 058 in its former operating territory in the Tauber Valley. The train consists of a mail car and two "Silberling" coaches - evoking the authentic atmosphere of a branch line. Also particularly appealing are the surviving mechanical signal boxes at Satteldorf, Blaufelden, Markelsheim, and Bad Mergentheim. True to the winter season, the event begins around 8:00 a.m. in Crailsheim. The first shuttle run takes us to Lauda, with stops for photography and staged departures along the way. Two further shuttle runs between Weikersheim and Bad Mergentheim were originally planned but had to be shortened due to a locomotive malfunction. Despite these unexpected changes, we managed to capture some impressive shots amidst the glorious winter weather.
